Data Cabling and Camera Wiring

We run data cabling and wire security cameras, usually in buildings we are already working in.

Because it is the same people on the same job, the cabling gets planned with the electrical instead of chased in afterward through a ceiling somebody has already closed up.

The jobs people actually call about

Moving the office around. Desks going where desks were not, and every one of them needing a drop. Relocating an office is mostly a cabling job wearing a furniture job’s clothes.

The printer that has to live somewhere else now. Small job, and it stops being small when the only way to reach the new corner is through a ceiling nobody wants opened.

Phones. Voice over IP put the phone system on the network, which means the phones are now a cabling question rather than a phone-company question. Drops for handsets.

A machine that needs an Ethernet cable. New equipment turns up expecting a network connection that nobody planned for, out on a floor where the nearest data point is a hundred feet and two walls away. This one comes up more than anything else on the list, and it is the one people are most surprised is an electrician’s job.

Offices that have outgrown what was put in ten years ago. Wireless access points, workstations, and the equipment that has to plug into something.

We cable new buildings and additions too, where planning it with the electrical is cheaper and tidier than taking a ceiling back down later.

Security cameras

Camera wiring, and the power and pathways they need.

Most camera problems turn out to be a cable run somewhere awkward, or power that was never really there. That is the part we do.

What we do not do

No fiber. No access control or door entry systems.

Those are real trades with their own specialists. If that is what you need, we will tell you straight away rather than halfway through.

Why bother having your electrician do it

The alternative is coordinating two trades in one ceiling, and the person running the data cable should know where the power is.

If we are already in the building, this is the easiest thing on the job to get right.
