Standby Generator Installation in Warsaw, Indiana
We install standby generators and transfer switches for homes, farms and businesses across Kosciusko County. The generator sits outside, the transfer switch does the thinking, and when the power drops the things that matter come back on without anybody driving out to flip anything.
We’ve been wiring this county since 1981. We’re not a dealer for any brand, so we put in whatever fits the job and the building.

Sizing it to the building, not to a brochure
Before we get to which generator, the first question is what has to stay on.
A whole house is one answer. The furnace, the well pump, the freezer and a few circuits is a cheaper answer, and for a lot of people it’s the right one. On a farm the answer is usually the ventilation, and it isn’t negotiable.
We’ll walk the building, look at the panel, and tell you what it takes to carry what you actually need, and what it would cost to carry more. If the smaller unit does the job, that’s what we’ll tell you.
Battery backup
A battery keeps your power on with no fuel and no engine. There is nothing to refill, and it is quiet enough that you would not know it was carrying the house.
It picks up on its own. When the grid goes down the battery takes over by itself, the same as a standby generator but without the start-up.
We size it the way you want it: a few circuits that matter most, such as the furnace, the well, the freezer and a couple of rooms, or the whole house. That is your call and we build it to match.
If your panel needs upgrading first, we can do both in one job. It is usually the cheaper way round, and it saves having the same wall opened up twice.
Most people choose one or the other, a battery or a generator. If you want both, we will put both in.

Transfer switches
We install both manual and automatic transfer switches.
An automatic switch senses the outage, starts the generator and moves the load over on its own, then puts everything back when the utility returns. A manual switch is cheaper and does the same job as long as somebody is there to throw it.
Which one is right depends on whether the building can wait for a person to arrive. A house usually can. A barn full of livestock cannot.

Six transfer switches in one poultry barn
One of the jobs on this page is a poultry barn where the standby power is split six ways instead of going through one connection.
Each transfer switch carries its own part of the building and switches over on its own. The first one is labeled for the fans and the electric room, because in a closed poultry house the ventilation is the load that cannot wait. Birds and heat don’t give you much of a window.
On a barn like that, the generator is insurance rather than a convenience. More jobs like it on our work and agriculture pages.

Homes
Panels, well pumps, sump pumps, furnaces, freezers, the septic pump if there is one. If you’re on a lake and the place sits empty part of the year, standby power is also what keeps the pipes from freezing while you’re not there.
Businesses
Walk-in coolers. Servers and registers. Sump pumps in a basement full of stock. Emergency and exit lighting. If a day of being closed costs more than the generator, the arithmetic makes itself.
What we’re not
We’re not a dealer for any brand, and we don’t have a manufacturer’s sign on the building. That means nobody is steering you toward a particular unit because of what’s on the paperwork. We put in what fits the job.
Propane, natural gas or diesel, whichever suits the building and what you’ve already got on site.
